Podium Finish at the Edge: MM Sailing USA’s Worrell 1000 Challenge

The Worrell 1000 Race 2024, held from May 12th to May 24th, was a journey like no other. 1,000 miles of pure endurance, raw speed, and teamwork along the Atlantic coast from Florida to Virginia. Sailing together, Matthieu Marfaing and Emmanuel “Manu” Bourlogne proudly carried the MM Sailing USA colors and finished 3rd overall, securing a well-deserved podium in one of the toughest offshore races on the planet. Beyond the result, it was a true test of resilience, trust, and determination, the essence of offshore multihull sailing.

The Worrell 1000 is more than a race, it’s a battle against distance, exhaustion, and the elements. Each of its 13 stages along the U.S. East Coast pushes sailors to the edge of endurance. For Manu and me, the 2024 edition was a personal challenge and a professional mission: to show that discipline and spirit can take you all the way to the top.
Finishing 3rd overall after nearly two weeks of racing through wind, waves, and sand was an incredible reward. Every surf launch, every long ocean reach, every sleepless night was part of the story that brought us there.
We raced not only for ourselves but for the whole MM Sailing USA community, our partners, families, and supporters who share our vision. This podium proved that when passion meets persistence, anything is possible.

Looking back at those twelve unforgettable days from the beaches of Florida to the finish line in Virginia Beach, I realize how special this experience was. The Worrell 1000 is brutal, beautiful, and unforgettable.
Sharing this challenge with Manu, a sailor and friend I deeply respect, made it even more meaningful. Together, we faced fatigue, uncertainty, and the power of the ocean, and came out on the podium.
Some races define your season; this one defined who we are as sailors.
The Worrell 1000 2024 will forever remain a symbol of endurance, friendship, and determination.
